Frequently asked questions
What is a padel Americano?
A format where you change partner every round. Each game is played to a points total (24 is the most common) and every player keeps the points their pair wins. The winner is the player with the most points, not a pair.
How are points counted?
Every rally is a point, with no games or sets. In a game to 24, if your pair wins 13-11 you score 13 and your opponents 11. You only enter one number; the other fills itself in.
What if we are an odd number, or short of courts?
Whoever doesn’t fit sits out that round, and sit-outs are spread as evenly as possible. Sitting out earns half the game’s points, like a draw, so it doesn’t decide the night.
How many rounds do we need?
With 8 players, 7 rounds: everyone partners everyone once. With 12 or 16 the full rotation is too long for one evening, so you pick how many rounds to play and the schedule keeps repeat partners to a minimum.
Who can enter scores?
Anyone with the link. Every change is recorded and the organiser can undo any of them from their own link.
